Project Initiation Document (PID) is a set of documents created at the start of a project and used throughout it's lifecycle. The PID can be simple or more detailed. It includes key information such as the project's objectives, it's scope (including activities out of scope), stakeholders, and will often include tasks and a timeline. Depending up on the complexity of the project it may also include critical path analysis.
